Moses the doorman is one the nicest guys I have ever been greated by. You are immediately felt welcome. It's a good pint of Guinness but not the best in town.

I have been wanting to take my family here for years. (We live in Michigan) I came to this restaurant 22 years ago with my parents and loved it. I remember exactly what I ordered then! I was nervous to go back and ruin the memories but so glad I did go back. It's exactly as I remember. Very quaint restaurant. I love the style and atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and lovely. The food was great. My son said it was the "best burger" of his "whole life" and that's saying something because this kid lives off burgers and pizza. I got the Boston dip and it was fantastic. I also felt like it was fairly priced. My husband got a Guinness and said it was so fresh and the best he has had. I would love to come back here. We enjoyed our meal here and our kids now have memories of this place as I did.

We can in as part of a food tour and it was busy, but there were still so welcoming! We had enough time for some curry chips, a Guinness, and a few songs. We could have stayed so much longer, we were having a great time. Next time we’re in Boston we’re definitely coming back ~ there’s a lot more we want to try and just to enjoy the atmosphere.

There's live music 7 nights a week according to the sign, and that was a great bonus. It's all ages in the dining area until 10pm. It's all one big room, though, and the loud crowded pub atmosphere was a little too noisy for me personally during dinner and detracted from the live entertainment, but I still really enjoyed it overall. I had the Irish Trio, which consists of smaller portions of bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, and beef stew than the regular entrees. Everything had great flavor and texture. I haven't had Irish food from a restaurant in decades, and this really hit the spot.

I make it a point to visit The Black Rose every time I’m in Boston, and it never disappoints. Located right in the Financial District, it’s an absolute staple for me when traveling to the city. The food was phenomenal fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You can tell there’s pride in every plate that comes out of the kitchen. The staff was just as impressive: attentive, welcoming, and genuinely professional. They create an experience, not just a meal. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between classy and comfortable. Whether you’re meeting clients, catching up with friends, or just enjoying the city, it’s the kind of place that feels authentic and elevated at the same time. If you’re in Boston and want great food, outstanding service, and a refined atmosphere, The Black Rose is a must-visit.

Hostess and security persons were awesome personable and professional. Bartender was quick to notice me while waiting for our seats, Keltic music was great, our waitress was awesome and our food, buffalo cauliflower, Jameson wings, the pretzel. Thanks look forward to seeing yall again soon. Worth your time to visit

On a hectic business trip to Boston for back-to-back meetings, I ducked into The Black Rose near the financial district for a quick solo lunch. Server Florjan greeted me promptly, recommended the shepherds pie sandwich—tender, savory, and paired with perfect beers—and had it out in under 10 minutes without rushing the vibe. He even topped off my coffee and shared a quick tip on nearby parking. Amid conference call chaos, this was my oasis: outstanding service, good food that fueled the rest of my day. Ideal for professionals on the go!

This is great Irish Pub. From the black and tans and curry chips to the chicken curry and the Jameson wings, this place has it all. Live music everyday to boot! This pub is a must when you are in Boston!

Loved our visit! Service was great she was so sweet, live music and vibes were amazing, but the food was unexpectedly delicious!!! Expected average bar food but the shepherds pie was a 10/10 highly recommend. Irish coffee was also super yummy :)
